Our ORANGE INDIA TOUR’S devotional tour package gives you a chance to embark on an exotic excursion you have never experienced before. The Six Abodes of Murugan are six temples situated in the state of Tamil Nadu in South India.
The god is known by different names such as Kartikeya, Skanda, Vadivela and Muruga at various temples.The story of Lord Murugan is described in Skanda Purana. According to the legend, in the olden days, the demon Soorapadman tortured the Devas, who went to complain to Lord Vishnu and Brahma.
They assigned Kamadeva to awake Lord Shiva from his penance, who later gave birth to Kartikeya. Karthikeyan killed Soorapadman and saved the devas. Muruga is depicted as the god of love and war. Kartikeya married Valli by love and married Deivayanai by winning the war held in Tiruchendur. The six abodes of Lord Murugan are Thiruthani, Palani, Thiruparankundram, Pazamudirchoolai, Tiruchendur.

Itinerary Details in tour
DAY 1: CHENNAI - THIRUTHANI - KUMBAKONAM
- Departure from Chennai and proceed to Tiruthani Murugan Temple one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan.
- Later drive to Kumbakonam. Upon en route visit to Nataraja temple or Thillai Nataraja temple(Chidambaram), is a Hindu temple dedicated to Nataraja – Shiva as the lord of dances.
- Later, Overnight Stay at Kumbakonam.
DAY 2: KUMBAKONAM - TANJURE- MADURAI
- After breakfast proceed to Visit Swamimalai Murugan Temple Darshan(Swaminatha Swamy Temple). on the way visit some of the famous temples. While en route visit Brihadisvara Temple-also referred to as Rajesvara Peruvudaiyr is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and also visit Rajarajan mani mandapam.
- Later, drive to hotel –Overnight Stay at Madurai
DAY 3: MADURAI -THIRUPARANKUNDRAM - PAZHAMUDIRCHOLAI - TIRUCHENDUR
- Today Morning after Breakfast drive to Thiruparankundram Murugan temple(Subramaniya Swamy Temple) visit & PazhamudirCholai Temple(Solai malai Murugan Temple).
- Later Visit the famous Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple, one of the holiest places of workship in South India. Later visit the Thirumalai Nayakan Palace.
- Later proceed to Tiruchendur. Overnight stay at Tiruchendur.
DAY 4: TIRUCHENDUR - PALANI
- Today Morning after Breakfast Dharsan to Tiruchendur Murugan Temple(Senthil Andavar Temple) - It is one of the ancient Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Muruga.
- Rest of the day is at leisure.
- Overnight stay at Palani.
DAY 5: PALANI - CHENNAI
• After breakfast proceed to Palanimalai Murugan Temple Darshan(Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple).
- On en route visit Srirangam- The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple or Thiruvarangam is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha, a reclining form of the Hindu deity Vishnu.
- As per the Arupadaiveedu Package, your final day will begin with a breakfast. Finally returning back to Chennai with blessings and happiness.
